Brisik Restaurant @ Jaya One PJ

Tuesday, October 28, 2008

The Brisik Restaurant located in Jaya One, Section 13 of Petaling Jaya. It served Indonesian and Malaysian cuisine. First impression is that Brisik restaurant focus in its decoration, somewhat mysterious feeling, you can seen silk décor everywhere, from the ceiling to the ground, and cozy with the views.

The signature dishes of Brisik, Nasi Brisik using sweet pumpkin mashed into the rice (however, can’t provide feedback…didn’t try), Thai Fried Rice is the double layer rice, the white and the Thai fried rice combined together (eye-catching, the taste is unique with the combination of white rice). The Green Curry Laksa was creamy enough but too bad the santan (coconut milk) was not quite fresh as it should be and it is quite spicy too. In addition, the noodle was clump together.

Points to note, the place got a good ambiance and well designed by the interior designer, but their western cuisine is not satisfying at all and the portions are not big either, the food seems to have been cooked by the interior designer.

I was the one who ordered the green curry laksa. Not worth it. Does not taste like green curry. Very spicy and not much of noodle and meat. Tomato/black pepper spaghetti is disappointing. Such a simple dish and it tastes horrible. The abundance of black pepper irritates the back of my throat and the tomato sauce is just like diluted Maggi tomato ketchup.

the indonesian food here is very nice compare to other indonesian restaurants. pricing wise, ok. the ayam penyet, gulai udang and my favourite is the sambal hijau. yum yum. MUST try it or else you will never learn, what is FOOD.

Nightmare LUNCH! Waited 45mins to 1hr for food to be served among the people on our table. Some who ordered Seafood Tomyam came only with bean sprouts. Manager was rude and said NO POINT GIVING DISCOUNT SINCE YOU ALREADY HAVE A BAD EXPERIENCE AND WILL PROBABLY NOT COME BACK. Food bill tallied had an extra dish which we didn't order. We asked to pay the incorrect bill first. HUH?
