Damansara Palace Restaurant @ Jalan PJU 3, Petaling Jaya

Sunday, November 23, 2008

Damansara Palace located just about 5 minutes away from The Curve, is an ideal place for wedding dinner and birthday celebration. With no column constructed within the broad and luxury banquet hall, they are able to cater 100 tables and another wing which can hold another 18 tables to provide different customers’ requirement. It also has specially designed luxury VIP karaoke wings, in order to fulfill the needs of some patrons who want to possess their own privacy. Hence, the customers can fully enjoy singing and food with their friends and family at the same time.

The restaurant provides a cozy and tranquil dining environment. However, be warned that you'll have to walk up a flight of stairs to get to the restaurant which is located on the 1st floors. There is no lift to get up there, so it's not a favorable place to bring someone elderly/disability.

Food wise, their ‘Three Hot Combinations’ rather average with fried dumplings, baby octopus with jelly fish and stir-fried vegetable on a deep-fried yam bowl.
Next, ‘Chinese Herbs Fish Maw Soup’ is quite nice. Rather than eating the usual shark-fins soup, you can opt for Fish Maw.
Quick glimpse on the ‘Palace Roasted Chicken’, very aromatic and color wise, it is a beauty. Well roasted, every piece of meat is tender and crispy. Following is the ‘Steamed Patin Fish’, the chef used their own home make sauce and spices, enhancing the freshness of the fish. As for the Prawn, they deep fried with Salt & Pepper and used fresh prawns. So far, no complain for this dish. Fried Mixed Vegetable, nothing special and nothing to brag about it. Lastly, instead of using the typical Chinese noodle, their chef used Udon Noodle cover with Bean Sauce. Creativity wise is interesting; however, the taste is quite disappointed.
They also serve Dim Sum in the morning session, please click here for more information.
