Key Hiong (Dim Sum) Restaurant @ Taman Megah, Petaling Jaya

Wednesday, November 26, 2008

Key Hiong has been around since late 1980s and quite popular around the PJ area. Every early morning, you can easily recognize it by the large crowd sitting outside the premise and people gathering outside waiting for their turn to have their morning ‘yam cha’. It doesn’t look impressive as it is just a normal looking coffee shop but many people come here for their dim sum each day. They don't serve the best dim sum around but their dim sum is above average. Every now and then, they add new creations to their dim sum, so you’ll never get bored of eating dim sum at their place. What makes them famous is their ‘Pau’ a.k.a bun, all their pau are 100% made fresh everyday. Their pau is really moist and soft and the inside is just nice. Most notable is the ‘Tai Pau’, it’s stuffed with a mixture of marinated lean pork, garlic, onions and half of a hard boiled egg tasted and sauce is real good. Compare to else where, it is toooo dry on the inside. P1000649
Pricy wise, it is very affordable.
