Little Penang Kafe @ The Curve, Petaling Jaya

Sunday, November 30, 2008

Little Penang Kafe’s deco is simple, stick to the typical Penang Coffee Shop which features a retro theme, right down to the seating areas. It’s cozy and reminiscent of the late 70s time. You could see that this café is one of the busy restaurants in The Curve and most tables were occupied with patrons. Waiters are well trained and service is fast.

Their menu features a range of authentic Penang delicacies that include a number of Nyonya dishes. Lobak and Assam Laksa being the main attractions, the recommended dishes here include Penang Char Kuey Teow, Nasi Lemak and Home Style Lam Mee.

Basically, the Penang Char Kuew Teow fried with hot kuali with prawns, crab meat on top, cockles, egg and ‘tau geh’. Very good and not very oily.P1000668
Home Style Lam Mee, it is a dish for both young and old. It’s quite delicious, noodles in a flavorful chicken soup and garnished with chicken strips, prawns and egg.P1000666
Penang Curry Mee is a dish easily found in Penang. Mee with coconut based gravy combined with fragrant chili paste. (This dish is passable).P1000665
Overall, if you want to find a decent Penang food in shopping mall, then this place is ok for you to try.

As nauseous as I am, the char koay teow do taste good. The lam mee was okay.
