Old Taste Ipoh White Coffee Kopitiam @ SS2 PJ

Sunday, November 2, 2008

Old Taste serves similar menu as that offered by the Old Town Kopitiam chain. It is yet another chain of copycat kopitiam which have been given the upgraded treatment so that they can charge you extra several ringgit for a cup of coffee/tea that you could pay RM1.80 for in a normal kopitiam.

Old Taste Food here is not too bad. The Nasi Lemak was actually quite good. The rice was firm and fragrant. Served with onion sambal with a piece of rending/fried chicken with the usual egg, ikan bilis and nuts. The curry noodles was also not bad at all. The soup had enough spices and coconut milk which is spicy yet not overwhelmingly hot/strong and tasted very "home cooked" (but too oily).

The environment and ambience is good, clean and tidy. It’s a good relaxing place to hangout and yamcha with friends. The quality of the food is just nice, and the price is reasonable or maybe you would say it’s ‘affordable’. If you have nowhere to hang out during the saturday evening, then you may consider Old Taste Kopitiam. It’s really a nice place for you to relax after the heavy workload.
