AHEKO has been established for almost 4 years and now is a small chain restaurant around Malaysia, one located in Kuching, another one in Serdang and this one in Citrus Park in Plaza OUG.

AHEKO Hot Soup Restaurant, well, the name itself says it all, Hot Soup is the specialty in this restaurant. Their specialty Pig Intestine Pepper soup, it’s really good especially for people feeling under the weather. Imagine sipping this hot pepper spicy soup that can make patrons feeling much better. Besides the soup, AHEKO’s menu focuses on providing patrons home cook meals and Hakka dishes. So that’s why the ambiance of the restaurant is quite a family oriented décor. Giving patrons a sense of homey feeling while enjoying their meals.

First, their 3 color milk tea, instead of using the normal white sugar, they use melted brown sugar. Giving their milk tea a 3 color tier and a unique taste (Oklar).

The Claypot “lou shu fen” is nothing special and so ordinary and so watery. Taste wise, it’s a bit bland and they use a lot black pepper.
P1010370
The Emperor’s Fried Rice, one word, letdown. It’s not very good and plain. Although there is aromatic smell of butter, but the chef forgot to add some salt.
P1010374
Next, the Salted Fish Fried Rice. Overall, it is very fragrant and the salted fish gives the extra flavorful to the rice.
P1010378
The 8 Flavor Chicken Wings. The chicken wing is debone and filled with minced pork meat and then using 8 types of spices to marinate it before deep fried. It’s very delicious, juicy and appetizing.
P1010375
As for tofu, they have their specialty dish called AHEKO Fried Fish Tofu. The chef uses fish paste and mixed with the freshly local tofu and added some spicy to enhance the taste. But the dish doesn’t live up to the patrons’ expectation; the chef must have forgotten to add some salt again which the dish is bland.

But still, there are still many dishes in the menu and it is still worth another couple of visits. So for patrons coming with family, do try out.

The loh shi fun was quite salty. But I quite like the teh ais. They put 'Malacca brown sugar' in it. It has a unique coconut taste.
