Kik Kok, Kik Kok, Kik Kok……what is that? What is Kik Kok? Maybe a name, stall name, name of the food, who knows, no one knows except the owner. Basically they are selling thin waffle/pancake. It’s a thin, flat cake prepared from a batter and cooked on a hot griddle or frying pan. Pancakes exist in several variations in many different local cuisines.

After some researching, it believes that Kik Kok is taking the Scottish crumpet which is made from the same ingredients as a Scottish pancake, and is about 180 mm (7 inches) diameter and 8 mm (0.3 inches) thick. They are available plain, or as a fruit crumpet with raisins baked in, and is not reheated before serving; condiments include jams. The ingredients include a raising agent, usually baking powder, and different proportions of eggs, flour and milk which create a thin batter.

Here they serve with varieties of flavors like peanut butter, chocolate, pineapple, strawberry, blueberry, kaya, honey and butter. If patrons like more bites from pancake, they can always add banana or chicken floss.

Overall, the thin waffle is crispy and tasty. Kids and even adults will love it. You can find it in Ikano, lower ground floor, at one of the small stalls (opposite the news-stand) just next to the escalator.
