Unique Seafood Restaurant @ Section 13, Petaling Jaya

Sunday, July 5, 2009

Patrons that tired to venture out of town for seafood but still, looking for freshwater prawns or that steamed patin cooked with superior soya sauce, do try the Unique Seafood in PJ. Their main décor/theme is by installing at about one hundred fish tanks filled with all sort of live fish from abalone, crabs to garoupa. Unique Seafood sits quietly at Section 13. The restaurant is divided into two separate 'operations'. The live seafood section and the kitchen. That's why you will be getting two bills at the end. One for the seafood and the other for the cooking. Now, in the live seafood section, depending on how thick your wallet is and how much thinner you want it to be at the end, choose from the selection of fresh fish, shellfish, prawns, crabs, lobsters and snails too.

For this post, it’s about their Dinner set. First of all, the Four Happiness & Cold Combination. The marinated squids was tasty, then the deep fried meat was so so saja, and then the celery fried with scallops was tangy and lastly the minced fish paste was awful and smell quite bad. Managed to complained to the captain and they gladly replace it with oyster wrapped with fresh minced fish paste. It’s delicious and a nice bounces back.

As said earlier, here, you are able to get fresh fish especially this Steamed Sea Grouper in Cantonese Style. Freshly caught from the fish tank, and within minutes, the chef immediately steam with superior soya sauce. No doubt, this is a very very delicious dish.

Then the Crispy Fried Chicken with Garlic Flavor. Chicken is tender and scrumptious….yum yum

Of course, you must try the fresh tiger prawns. In order to taste the freshness of this prawn, the chef doesn’t need to do must. They just boiled it with water and serve. Nice!

The Stewed Fish Maw with Mushroom, Broccoli & Pacific Clam. Nicely done!

The Seafood Noodle, the chef used fresh prawns, squid and fish meat to fry this dish. It’s very appetizing.

Then end with a nice bowl of dessert, the sweetened Soya Bean with Glutinous Rice Ball….MMmmmmMMmmmmmmmmmmmm
