Ang Kee Restaurant @ SS2, Petaling Jaya
Sunday, May 31, 2009
Ang Kee Restaurant is situated at the SS2 Chow Yang area, same row as Kayu Nasi Kandar, a few shoplots away. Huge signboard that reads Restoran Ang Kee, you can't miss it. Obviously, the owner of this restaurant is also called Ang Kee, and has since operated in the early 90s.
For this particular visit, many patrons have recommended that here is famous for their Hokkien fried mee. Refer to this picture below, its Meehon+mee. The Hokkien Char is not bad actually; it has the usual pork meat, vege and also has pork lard. The lard is diced so small that you can't see it but you can still certainly bite into it. Furthermore, it has wok taste which is good and tangy.
After that, it’s the Cantonese Hor Fun/Wa Tan Hor Fun, and so far it’s delicious with the usual ingredients however the chef put a bit too much of white pepper. A turn off to the patrons.
