(Kee Kee Bentong Chicken Rice) Restaurant Yat Yeh Hing @ Jalan SS4D, Petaling Jaya

Wednesday, December 24, 2008

Kee Kee Bentong Chicken Rice is situated in a normal looking restaurant called Yat Yeh Hing. It’s quite near to the Kelana Jaya LRT Station. It is just one of those restaurant that serve steamboat and “tai chow” at night and Kee Kee Bentong Chicken Rice operates during the day.
The owner (Mr. Lim Ee Choon) brought his recipe all the way from Bentong, Ipoh and operates since 1992. So, for patrons to find a table here can be a really tricky task. So it is advisable to come early before the lunch crowd. Otherwise you might have to stand for 10-30 minutes to get one. Not only finding seats is difficult, it is quite hard to get a parking here because there is so limited legal parking spots around. You can park your car in the residential area but please be considerate not to block anybody.
Why so attractive about this chicken rice is their Bentong's special recipe of great tasty yellowish chicken. After being steamed, the steamed chicken is immediately dipped into icy cold water, in order to ensure a layer of nice juicy fat under the skin. And at the same time the meat will be made cold, firm and tender (So good!!!). It is definitely one of the best chicken rice around PJ area.
By the way, please remember to self-serve yourself a free bowl of chicken feet and vegetable soup as much as you want. It tastes very good.
