Ah Wa Restaurant is located along Jalan 222 in Petaling Jaya and is situated at a corner shop consisting different hawker stalls such as chicken rice, grilled fish, satay, lobak, popiah, mixed rice, soup noodles etc. But what's famous in this shop is the hokkien mee for sure and is the preferred choice of many hungry fans. Even the shop is named with the hokkien mee in it. Almost every day, the place is packed with patrons.

Hokkien Mee (kuey teow), it’s famous here and every patron must have it! As you can see, the hokkien mee is filled with pork lard fritters which enhance the flavors of the dish. Distinctively dark and full of heavy pork lard aroma (which lingers for miles around nearby housing estates), the extraordinarily steaming hot fried noodles in flavored oil, garlic, dark soy sauce, sliced cabbages/choy sum, fishcakes /prawns/cuttlefish and pork meat is one of a kind and which many feel taste much better than the Penang favourite Char Kuey Teow. Also, it can be accompanied with their homemade chilli sauce. The sambal/chili sauce is simply delicious, and complements the noodles so well. Not too spicy too….yummmmmy….

Next, the “Wa Tan Hor Fun”, it is a dish of flat rice noodle with prawns, fish cake, pork and choy sum swimming in egg gravy. The wa tan hor was absolutely fabulous, seriously the best one by far. The sauce thick and very flavorful and you can taste the difference between the sauce blended with egg yolk and those with only egg white. Tasty…...

eh how come yr kuey teow do not have a raw egg cracked over them? i went to their branch in seri kembangan and it was served wid one raw egg

Really? I didn't know they have a branch somewhere else. No, no raw egg on the koey teow. As far as authentic hawker hokkien koey teow goes, this is one of the best though the presentation does not look much. The wa tan hor is ok, above average.
