Tang House of Fishball Restaurant (The 60’s Teow Chew Fishball) @ Sea Park, Petaling Jaya

Monday, March 2, 2009

Tang House of Fishball located in Sea Park, just along the same row of the Kentucky Fried Chicken. By looking at the signboard, the restaurant has started their business since 1960s and the restaurant is pretty cozy environment, cleanliness is first-class and it’s air-conditioned.
They serve all kinds of fish paste: fishball, fishcake, fish noodles and yong tau foo stuffed with fish paste. Patrons can view the entire menu which mounted on the wall, with both Chinese and English language, together with the price. Their sign also proclaimed their freshness and their fish paste has no preservatives.
First of all, their hand made fish noodle (soup base), comes with slices of fishcake. Basically, the noodles made from fish paste and tastes pretty good, has a firm and springy texture that chews pretty well. The soup is quite clear and nothing to shout about it.
If you order the dry base, also comes with slices of fishcake, mince pork meat and fried onion & spring onion garnish onto the fish noodle. In order to enhance the taste, they use fried pork oil which is so good and tasty.
The fishcake is nice and springy. No doubt they use fresh fish paste. However, the deep fried fish dumpling is also good, but it’s not that crunchy maybe it’s because there are not freshly fried when order.
Overall, Price wise, they are not cheap as the cheapest noodle goes for RM5-7 per bowl and the portion might sometimes be a bit small for guys. So be prepared to order a 2nd bowl if you’re a big eater. Besides, their menu offers a healthy tasting.
