Hailam Kopitiam @ SS2, Petaling Jaya
Sunday, February 8, 2009
Hainanese Chicken Chop is a dish of mixture of Chinese origin most commonly associated with Malaysian cuisine or Singapore cuisine. Due to its roots in Hainan cuisine and its adoption by the Hainanese overseas Chinese population in the Nanyang area, the version found in Malaysia/Singapore combines elements of Hainanese and Cantonese cuisines along with culinary preferences in the Southeast Asian region.
As for this Hailam Kopitiam in SS2, this recently operated in the last few months. The café’s interior is tastefully done to reflect a traditional kopitiam but with the added comfort of air-conditioning, modern table setting and meet décor creating a warm, welcoming ambience.
Their Milk Tea Ice is ok.
Here the chicken chop is served with coleslaw and crispy french fries. The chicken chop is tops with chopped onions and carrots. Taste wise, the chicken chop here is delicious as its tender and has an even thickness. The sauce here is tangy too.
