Jade Garden Seafood Restaurant @ Sungai Petani, Kedah
Monday, February 2, 2009
Jade Garden has been around in Sungai Petani for quite some time already. They started about early 1990s and since then, business has been good for all year round. Jade Garden feels like you've been to someplace familiar but pleasant, like a trip back in time. The décor shouts out 90s style design, the stylish without sacrificing its Chinese features. This restaurant definitely brings back childhood memories.
The place is always packed with patrons and has high expectations the moment patrons sit down since it is so popular among the local community. And the food truly didn’t disappoint. The homemade Tofu is very smooth and tasty.
Most notable dish is their “In-chi-ka-bin”, Fried Chicken, very aromatic and tangy using special herbs and spices then marinated one whole night.
The “Char Ho Fun”, is quite good and among the best in Sungai Petani or maybe in Klang Valley. Patrons should try it.
Deep Fried Spare Ribs. Now this is very good (be warned, reading the following may be hazardous to your health). The skin is crispy golden while the meat is tender and succulent. Add a little sweet sauce and you're in cholesterol heaven!... Yummmm
Although, the restaurant looks rather old-fashioned, patrons should not be worry. Their waitresses usually very helpful and friendly, and introduce & describe special dishes which dishes are usually delicious and reasonable price.

this place is the place to go for good 8 course meal in sungai petani. I practically grew up eating from this place. My wedding dinner was held here. My eldest brother's wedding dinner also held here. Countless birthdays and full moon celebration held here. so maybe i am a little bias when it comes to giving score to this place.
we are planning to have our dinner there... any suggestions on what might be the best to order for 6 of us????
Go for their in-chi-ka-bin. Other dishes, ask the captain. Their overall dishes are quite good.
