Bavarian Bierhaus German Restaurant & Bar @ The Curve, Petaling Jaya
Thursday, January 1, 2009
Bavaria, a province of German is renowned for its hearty pork dishes. So if you love to fill your mouth with huge chunk of pork knuckle or sublime sausages, you sure want to check out the Bavarian Bierhaus at The Curve. It’s located not far away from “Big Apple Donuts & Coffee” and right behind TGIF.
They have a nice open and relaxed ambiance. The restaurant is modeled after a Bavarian tavern with dark wood timber and rustic wooden collectibles displayed here and there. An ideal for group gatherings or family feasts or even just to hang out with friends with some cool beers on a warm muggy day.
Here, their main attraction is to have some cold German beer. This particular restaurant is carrying brews by Paulaner from Munich, Germany.
Back to the menu, The Pork Knuckle with Smoked Bacon and Honey–Pepper Glaze with Sour Cabbage and Sautéed Potatoes is nice and crispy with a slightly sweet and smoky taste. Underneath the skin was a thin layer of tender meat. The side servings of sauerkraut (tart shredded pickled cabbage) and sautéed potatoes countered the meat's richness. The slices of bacons are superb and every single bite on the Knuckles is juicy and the pork skin is crispy (but abit hard lar, but still very good).
Next, Cheese Burger with Lettuce, sundried tomato, pickled gherkin, baked potato skin and habanero mayo is quite tangy and beef meat is tender, grilled perfectly and well minced (Yum Yum).
Lastly, for dessert, the Chocolate Madeleine is a moist baked chocolate with vanilla ice cream and top with chocolate fudge. They blend well with each other and patrons can’t stop scooping for more.
It is advisable to share dishes because of the generous food portions, and then of course the price is on the high side.

Hi kennhyn, and thks for the info...if interested, how to i contact you?
One should share the pork knuckle with at least another partner. Even then, you will leave feeling very full. The skin was a bit leathery. Maybe because of the sauce.
