6 to 10 Grill & Nasi Lemak Restaurant @ Section 17, Petaling Jaya
Thursday, March 19, 2009
As most of the patrons aware that one of the famous western food & nasi lemak in Petaling Jaya is 6 to 10 Grill. It is believe that they have operating since early 90s near the road side and then now they have move to those shop below the flats. It’s located in Section 17, at the humble flats of Happy Mansion. There are other cafes, kopitiams and restaurants in the vicinity but this shop remains the most popular and well known by far.
6 to 10 Grill & Nasi Lemak has quite a selection of western food items on the menu, and of course, the nasi lemak. Their famous western dish is the red wine pork ribs (review next time….). As for their famous Nasi Lemak is price from RM7 and goes all the way to RM14. Choices of either 1, 2 or 3 side dishes with the usual range of Curry Chicken, Mutton Curry, Beef Rendang, Cuttlefish Sambal, or Dried Shrimp with Minced Pork Sambal. With the usual condiments: peanuts, anchovies, cucumber, hard boiled egg and a sweet spicy sambal.
The curry chicken comes with a pieces of potato was scrumptious and not overpowering spicy, just enough for a good kick when you mix it to the coconut rice.
The beef rendang is very tender and breaks apart easily when you nudge it with your spoon and fork……yum yumm….
What makes their nasi lemak famous is the dried shrimp with minced pork. They fried dried shrimp and minced pork with spices and a bit of lime, very tasty and very unique. It isdefinitely match made in heaven with the rice…..highly recommended…..Nice!
Then the Grill Chicken Chop (with Black pepper or brown sauce). A big slab of succulent boneless chicken leg grilled to perfection. The edges were just slightly burnt for that smoky taste. Both black pepper and brown sauce are alright, the garnish and side dishes that come with it weren’t exactly spectacular, only the usual “salad”, cucumber, lettuce, tomato, and fries. Overall, it’s just fine.
The Fish & Chips with tartar sauce, this dish is a bit letdown, French Fries is normal and the fish is normal, everything is normal…..nothing special about it…..
Point to note, this place is usually quite pack on Friday & weekend nights but like all ugly Malaysians, parking around here is haphazard with some people double parking. Pretty sure the residents in the flats above must curse this place every night as the patrons' parking habits made it so difficult for them to get to their units. Overall the environment is not bad, food serve within 15 minutes.

i dont think its that valued, plus there's isnt much selection of food. For the price paid, i can get better elsewhere. i`ll pass for this place.
maybe not for western food....but for nasi lemak, i'm coming back for more...
Nasi Lemak = Village Park for the win. At least, for me =)
