Food Foundry @ Section 17, Petaling Jaya
Sunday, March 8, 2009
Food Foundry is located in Section 17, PJ and wish to highlight that this restaurant is not an easy place to find especially if you aren’t familiar with PJ. It hides in a corner, in between some low cost flat/apartment in Jalan 17.
First impression of the restaurant, it’s somewhat cozy yet stylish. With a big screen latched in one corner, patrons can already feel homey when hanging out here. Food Foundry serves an additive-free Asian and Western meals, they also have a lunch promotion where you can order any local dish, sandwich or pasta.
Start off with the Deep Fried Calamari, fresh "springy" calamari rings encased in a light crispy batter…just alright…
The Fish & Chips, the batter is quite ok while the fish is moist and juicy on the inside. Chips wise, is normal….
For the next course, the Lamb Shank serves with mashed potatoes is quite tasty. The typical "smelly" lamb taste is absent, the meat is tender and juicy. It is believed that the tender lamb shank is braised for 6 hours.
Overall the price is very reasonable. The food is good and there are monthly promotions plus special discounts for students and senior citizens. So do check it out.

didn't like the calamari. didn't like the fish... has too much flour coating and soggy. i think after trying fish and chips in frontera and food foundry, manhattan fish market still preferable. calamri from new paris much better.
