Blue Cow Café was formerly known as Fogal Meat Market Deli & Café, according to the staff, they changed their name due to some sort of issue on the “Non-Halal” matter but didn’t pursue further. Anyway, this café is owned and operated by Aussie.

Blue Cow Café is situated on the same row as Yoga Zone in Plaza Damas, take note that it is not inside the shopping complex which hides among the rows of shoplots. The place is actually a meat butchery in front, with seats at the back (and some outside the shop at the back and front) which allows the place to double as a restaurant. The setup is like a supermarket feeling (like Jusco), they do sell various meats including pork. You have the option to buy the meat, or you can just simply have it cooked and have it there on the spot.

First of all, the drinks, drinks are normal, but the ice chocolate was a bit letdown, a bit diluted.

Then the Big BBQ Breakfast, consists of 2 eggs (patrons can choose from omelet, scrambled, sunny side up or poached), bacon, steak, sausage, mushroom, tomato, hash brown and toast. Well, this dish is actually meant for two people. Everything are tasty, but sadly to note that the steak is rather average and dry.

If you are not up to the Big BBQ Breakfast, you should try the Sausages, Eggs and Toast. Basically you can choose various sausages from Pork (Good!), Beef, Lamb, Italian (Unique Taste), Chorizo (spicy taste, but good), Boerewors and Free Range Chicken. Sausages are highly recommended as all their sausages are freshly homemade.

Or you don’t feel like eating sausage, then you can try the Bacon, Eggs and Toast. Bacon is crispy and yummy….

The Roast Meat served with vegatables & coleslaw. The roast meat is thick and juicy (but a bit cold). The coleslaw is homemade and fabulous. Not gunky and gooey but lightly coated with the mayonnaise dressing. However, they took quite some time to prepare this dish, like about 20-30mins.

Our order was RM20 average per person that time. I went there again last weekend. Since i am pregnant, this portion was not enuf. So, i ordered side dish: baked beans and hash brown. Plus my drink, it was RM30. Planning to try their big breakfast. It is RM42 (normal big breakfast platter plus steak).

Well, as for me, I didnt really like the place. I am ok with the food (except for some weird tasting sausages and steak), but the mocha I ordered tastes like hot chocolate. I confirmed with the captain 3 times that it was indeed mocha, but as far as I am concern, it was hot chocolate with a mocha price tag!!

Alright, i totally agreed with the JH on the mocha issue... somehow their mocha tasted like chocolate or they wrongly labeled their chocolate tin to mocha…who knows….as far as I concerned, I like the sausages….

Hi guys, I work at the Blue Cow, and have done since before the name change. We recently have had an overhaul on the menu, and the Bacon/Sausage, Egg and Toast is now charged at RM15.90 (+ 10% service). The BBQ Breakfast includes bacon, sausage, egg, tomato, mushrooms, hash brown, steak and toast.

Hope that helps.

Love the Blue Cow Cafe butcher shop in Ampang Point. Haven't tried the cafe yet. We also have a Foodie review blog, check it out here: theyumlist.blogspot.com
