(Dim Sum) Jade Village Restaurant @ Dataran Sunway, Kota Damansara, Petaling Jaya
Thursday, April 2, 2009
Jade Village located at Dataran Sunway, hidden far inside the shoplots area. To many patrons, you may not find the restaurant outstanding. It’s just a typical normal or pretty much just an average Dim Sum restaurant. Most of the patrons here are the younger generation as you may compare to some other places where many elder generation like to hang out in Dim Sum restaurant, all chatting their mornings away while enjoying their favorite cup of tea.
The restaurant setup is quite modernized as patrons can choose to sit in the air-conditioning or smoking area.
As usual and said many many times, when you go for Dim Sum, surely, you must order the “Siew Mai”….no “siew mai”, you just don’t get the whole picture…..for here, their “siew mai” is alright, the texture is succulent and delicious……… nice…
Then, the regular Steamed Prawn Dumpling “Har Gaw”, is not too bad and the skin is not too thick which is good. Taste wise pretty decent and prawn is fresh…….
Steamed Fish Balls, typically is just minced fish meat and roll into a ball and then steam it. It’s juicy and bouncy too….
The Steamed Floury Rolls “Chee Cheong Fun” with BBQ Pork and prawns, has lots of filling and the rice rolls is just nice, not too thick, appreciated as it balanced out the saltiness of the meat...
Next, Siew Mai with salted egg garnish on top. Quite an interesting dish and enhance the flavor out of the siew mai……cool…
Char Siew Pastry “Char Siew Soh”, it's a parcel of crisp, flaky puff-pastry wrapped around succulent barbecued pork in a sweetly spicy sauce….it’s yummy….
The Pan Fried Turnip/Radish Cake, both crunchy on the inside and outside, it is quite alright….no complaint…
The char siew bao, is airy and fluffy, no complaints from this department either. Stuffed with generous amount of Char Siew and sauce is juicy and delicious too…
Generally, the service here is quite ok, and the food is quite affordable. So it’s worth a visit for those wanting to try.
