Ice cream (originally iced cream) is a frozen dessert usually made from dairy products, such as milk and cream, combined with fruits or other ingredients. Most varieties contain sugar, although some are made with other sweeteners. In some cases, artificial flavorings and colorings are used in addition to (or in replacement of) the natural ingredients. This mixture is stirred slowly while cooling to prevent large ice crystals from forming; the result is a smoothly textured ice cream.
Swensen's is an American casual dining restaurant concept, offering premium ice cream in a wide variety of outrageous flavors, all presented in creatively designed sundae concoctions. So in this SS2 branch, this outlet attracts young trendy crowds of students, young executives and families. They have just newly renovated and the dining concept consists of elements of the classic American soda fountain parlor, yet trendy, modern, and contemporary, exuding a comfortable, unpretentious and casual ambience.
Their range of ice cream sundaes is this outlets specialty. Popular ice cream creations such as Pistachio Almond, Butterscotch, and many more are favourites among the young and old alike. While maintaining a focus on ice cream, the menu also includes dishes mainly American in style and some dishes to appeal to the Malaysian patrons. The range spans from soups, salads, sandwiches, main courses, pasta and baked rice.
In Swensen’s, the all time favorite is the Celebrity Brownie. The brownie is cover with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, hot fudge, whipped cream, almonds and maraschino cherry. It’s tangy and marvelous but believes this is not the best in town yet.
Then the Merri-Mint, it’s a thin mint ice cream covered with hot fudge. Of course, it’s minty and refreshing. It’s a suitable dessert if you have garlic for your meal.
If you are not into ice cream, you can try their western food. Like the Mac ‘N’ Cheese, macaroni pasta with mushrooms and onions and then baked with cheese and cream sauce. Quite delicious actually and definitely will be back for more.
