(Ipoh Dried Curry Mee) Ming Tien Food Court @ Taman Megah, Petaling Jaya
Monday, December 15, 2008
Living in Malaysia, you can find many food courts anywhere and anytime. Sometimes it’s nice to eat at food courts because there are many types and variety of food to choose from at one location. Really helpful to saves the time and headache of thinking of a place to eat. Ming Tien Food Court ("Tomorrow" in Mandarin) in Taman Megah is one of those places.
Ming Tien is one of the popular Chinese hawker joints in PJ. With its beach huts decor and the waiters dressed in Hawaiian shirts, it really does give you a beach feel. Most of the stalls only open at night and most stalls are often manned by foreign workers and their food usually isn't up to par (so is the service). However once in a while you get some surprises. The curry mee at one of the stalls in Ming Tien is actually quite nice.
You can't miss the stall with its big words of "Curry Mee & Ipoh Hor Fun". What is good about this stall is that they offer a variety of noodles to choose from, from your standard bihun, kuey teow, yellow mee and etc. You must try the Ipoh Dried Curry style; it is much spicier than the soup style. What you get is that their Ipoh curry mee tops with special flavor. The taste is unique because it’s sweetish sour. The aroma is enhanced by the curry leaves/mint leaves, roast pork and char siew. It is usually served piping hot and some tau foo pok. So tasty and so yummy.
