K.T.Z Food 记得食 @ SS2, Petaling Jaya

K.T.Z restaurant, pronounced as “Kei Tuck Sek” in Cantonese - means “Remember to Eat” is a chain of restaurants in Klang Valley area. They are famous for their variety of “Thong Shui”/desserts and Dim Sum…that’s all.
This particular K.T.Z branch in SS2 serves fine-tasting snacks for tea, dinner, and supper and they are attracting customers in crowd. Folks are certainly flocking here in large numbers, and waiting for a vacant table is the norm. Most of the snacks here are excellent - with delicate deep-fried snacks, steamed yam cake and turnip cake. Apart from the snacks, the Tong Sui and Sago Loh are not to be missed (Try the Black Sesame…..rich in flavor…Mmmm).
What happens in a Sago Loh is they put lots of shaved ice into a bowl, pour some fruit puree plus generous helpings of sago onto it and decorate it with fruit slices matching the puree. The Honeydew or Mango Loh is always a good choice. The honeydew chunks will leave you with a refreshing feeling in a hot sunny day...sooo good.
Caution! If you decided to try their noodle section, please think twice before ordering. First of all, the Szechuan Dry Noodle is quite a letdown. Gravy is bland, taste like tomato sauce, use frozen vegetable (you know frozen chick peas, cube carrots, corn and etc) and noodle is too soggy.
Next, the Fried Beef “Ho Fen”/Kuey Teow, not very tasty. Again, the taste is quite plain; the beef is like a rubber band (need to take massive amount of bites) and overall, is a total disappointment.
Generally, it’s always good to try their Tong Sui and Sago Loh, you wouldn’t get sick of it. Between, their business always frantically busy, the staff is overworked and, therefore, inattentive and inefficient.
