J.U.S.T Thai @ 1 Utama, Petaling Jaya

J.u.s.t Thai located on the lower ground floor of 1 Utama, which is also where most of the other restaurants are located. Once you are in the restaurant, you’ll notice that it’s bright and breezy, a serene ambience is found in the setting. This outlet combines full dining facilities with cafe-style options. Especially their seats are very comfy.

Service wise, it’s just average. As for the menu, it has a selection of authentic and diverse Thai fare with regional specialties and tested recipes. There are a few choices of appetizers to desserts and there is an emphasis on seafood in the main meals. Meals are served with rice or noodles which are cooked in a variety of ways. There is a special section devoted to tom yam soups which come in a number of forms and varieties. All their signature dishes is highlighted in the menu, most of the ingredients are imported from Thailand while all the sauces used are home-made.

First of all, their Signature Pineapple Fried Rice with Prawn. Looking at the picture, probably you’re drooling on it. Sad to note that their fried rice is abit letdown, however they do use fresh prawns. But the dish is that not bad, but not too good either…..average only.


Next, the Thai Laksa served with Green Curry Chicken. This is a dry version of Thai Laksa and the noodle is very chewy and likewise, the Green Curry is flavored with Thai spices (so tasty and so good).

If you want something not spicy and soupy food, you should try the Stewed Beef Noodle Soup. The Soup has stewed with lean beef for a period of time, so definitely the soup is sweet and tasty. Noodle wise, they use rice noodle from Thailand (must try).

For dessert, you can’t do without the classic Water Chestnut with Coconut Milk and Sango Honeydew with Coconut Milk. Both are pretty good and here they use fresh coconut milk versus those places that replace it with the packet variety.
