Pasta de Gohan (Japanese Casual Pasta & Café Restaurant) @ Sunway Pyramid, Bandar Sunway
Wednesday, December 17, 2008
Pasta de Gohan is a spin off from Pasta de Waraku, a well established chain restaurant from Singapore. This particular new restaurant was opened this May 2008 and it’s located at LG2 near the New Wing Entrance.
Immediately you could not take your eyes off on the wide window display showcasing various plastic dishes replicas located all around the restaurant. A great way to decide what to eat.
The ambiance is pleasant and simple, furnished with country style wood tables and chairs. Tables are comfortably separated, and the Japanese soft ballads playing in the background help set the mood for a casual and relaxed dining experience. Besides the ambiance, what amaze is their enthusiasm of the staff serving. Efficient, and always with a smile, and best of all was the speed of service, once you have placed your order, you don’t needto wait for more than 10 minutes with food serve hot.
From the menu, there are 72 types of pasta to choose from, you will be spoilt with choices. If you are a bit confused, you can walk outside or around the restaurant as plastic replicas of the various types of pasta is on display. Basically, they sorted out and categorized their multiple choices of pastas according to the different types of sauces:
1) Japanese Original Sauce
2) Japanese Basil Style Sauce
3) Japanese Style Original Cream Sauce
4) Pizzas
5) Rice
Their pastas have a slight Japanese twist using ingredients you normally see in your Japanese meal such as fresh sea urchin, salmon, salted fish roe, unagi, pork katsu and many more.
Seafood Fettuccine with Wafu Tomato Cream Sauce (comes with Mussel, prawn and Squid)….. the wafu sauce is just right and blend well the pasta and not too creamy with tomato taste. Yum Yum…..
Next, Hamburg Steak Curry with Rice. The steak (beef) is filled with garlic and onion and minced well together then grilled around 80% cooked. It’s very juicy and tender. Eat it together with Japanese Curry and Rice, you’ll definitely enjoy every single bite till the last.
The Choco-Shake (just chocolate milkshake) is not that good; you can find it somewhere better.
Point to note, the price you are paying only translate to the quality of the food and service, but the quantity/portion of each dish is quite small. So guys, remember that!
